The Graco DuoGlider Double Stroller is an excellent tandem double stroller which featured a gamut of value-added features. Of them, our most favorite were the reclining and adjustable stadium-style seats. So, we could adjust both seats to face towards us, face the world away from us, face each other, or not face each other! That way, our babies could bond and enjoy the same and different things at the same time. Moreover, we could independently recline both seats, which also had padded handlebards with cupholders and pouches, removable storage trays, and adjustable canopies. Finally, the initial setup was extremely easy; all we had to do was click the wheels into place.

Nuna Trvl DBL Stroller

10

The Nuna Trvl DBL Stroller was the easiest stroller to fold, aside from the fact that it was spacious, not too wide, and not basic either. At the same time, it was narrow enough to easily pass through most doors. Another huge plus point was its durability, with the materials of the stroller being designed to take a beating. Even though we could only spot-clean it, it was quite easy to get stains out. Our twins especially loved the dual-extending canopies, which even had peekaboo windows so they could see the world. Additionally, the zipper was quite easy to deal with and even had a cover. So, the canopy didn’t sway about in the wind nd neither did it leak when it was raining. Rounding things up was the all-wheel suspension.

Best value-for-money. The Jeep Destination Ultralight Side x Side Double Stroller was one of the most value-for-money double strollers we’ve seen. Costing just USD 270, it was much more affordable than many of the other double strollers we’ve ever come across. At the same time, it held its own against many of its more expensive peers on this list. Firstly, it was extremely easy and simple to assemble, and it even came with bumper bars. Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono Complete Stroller

5

If a double stroller is what gets you by every day, then look no further than the Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono Complete Stroller. One of the narrowest side-by-side double strollers on the market, the Donkey 5 would fit through even crowded spaces and narrow doorways. We’re amazed by how well it handled every time we would push it, even with both our kiddos in tow — in fact, no other side-by-side double stroller even came close. Moreover, the incredible suspension system ensured smooth rides even over the bumpiest of terrains. Rounding things up was the adjustable handlebar and how easily the stroller would turn.

Evenflo Pivot Xplore All-Terrain Stroller Wagon

3

Yes, the Evenflo Pivot Xplore All-Terrain Stroller Wagon is a stroller wagon rather than a double stroller, but it’s such a good stroller wagon! However, this wagon + stroller hybrid was a super fun way to transport both our two kids when we were on the go. They were a fantastic alternative to pushing around our two young ones, especially when we’d go on adventures at the park or the beach. Thanks to the quick flip of the handle, the Xplore would transform into a stroller from a wagon and would turn and push much like a traditional stroller. We especially liked the telescoping handle which accommodated parents and caregivers of different heights. Finally, the all-terrain wheels could handle all kinds of surfaces.

  • Type: Stroller wagon
  • Stroller Weight: 34 lbs
  • Child Weight Limit: Two kids (55 lbs each)
  • Dimensions: 39 in H x 27 in W x 45 in L

Pros

  • The wagon would ride smoothly on all kinds of terrain, even sand.
  • The wagon and stroller combination was excellent and convenient.
  • Thanks to the open seats, the kids had more freedom to move and a 360-degree view.

Cons

  • It could accommodate only one car seat at a time.

This single-to-double tandem stroller has excellent convenience, durability, and quality features, converting from a single to a double with the inclusion of a second seat. Moreover, the bassinets have foam-free air mesh mattresses and vented bases too. It might be pricey at USD 1,200, but the V3 is chock-full of features: tons of storage space, a rain/bug shield, a magnetic harness system, a huge canopy, and even a fully reclinable all-weather seat with an integrated mesh back. Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 All-Terrain Double Stroller

1

Best overall. Sitting at the top of the list is the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 All-Terrain Double Stroller. We love this brand for their strollers’ easy and quick one-handed folds, with the double GT2 being praiseworthy for its size. Maneuverability-wise, this stroller s very easy to steer and push, even with our two kids onboard. Secondly, we loved the size of the stroller, as it’s fairly narrow and fit through most standard-sized doorways. If that wasn’t enough, we could even operate each canopy and seat independently. While it’s not for twins (since it has only one infant seat), it’s perfect for parents like us who have two kids of different ages – up to the age of five years!

  • Type: Side-by-side
  • Stroller Weight: 36.5 lbs
  • Child Weight Limit: 50 lbs (per seat)
  • Dimensions: 42.25 in H x 29.25 in W x 40.7 in L

Pros

  • The stroller is easy and quick to fold.
  • We found it easy to push and maneuver it even at maximum weight.
  • It could handle all kinds of terrain, including ice and snow.

Cons

  • None, really.

Our Verdict!

While we loved all the options on this list, here’s a smaller, more specialized list to help you actually choose one that suits your needs.

How To Choose The Best Light Double Strollers?

Types

Basically, there are three kinds of double strollers: tandem, side-by-side, and convertible ones. Since each option has its own advantages and disadvantages, we chose one according to our preference, needs, and lifestyle, and you should too.

  • Tandem: A.k.a. in-line strollers, these are single-file seats with a seat in front of another. While both seats can be the same height, tandems usually have “stadium seating,” with the back seat sitting slightly higher than the front one for better viewing.
  • Side-by-side: These have seats sitting right next to each other.

Maneuverability and size

It’s no secret that double strollers aren’t compact. However, some of them are more streamlined and smaller than the others. So, you need to consider how you’ll be using the double stroller and where you’ll be storing it. Will you be keeping the stroller in the garage, mudroom, the apartment, or the car? Do you need one that fits through narrow doorways? Will you be required to lift the stroller often, or do you want to break it down for storage? All these questions will need to be answered before you make your decision.

The second thing you need to think about is the maneuverability. For instance, city families staying in buildings with elevators and using the stroller everyday will need a double that’s easy to push and steer. If the stroller will be used more infrequently, then maneuverability needn’t be that big of a focus.

Features

There are numerous features that you need to consider when you. These include things like suspension, cupholders, reclining seats, an adjustable handlebar, basket storage, canopy size, breathable fabric, modular seating, stroller and configuration are just some of the things we considered while shopping for double strollers. Configuration is very important: for instance, do you need double strollers accommodating bassinets or infant car seats? If you do, how many, and in what setups do ylou need them?

However, one of the most important features we considered was the weight of the stroller itself, as well as its own maximum weight limits — both for the stroller overall and every seat individually. You need to follow the weight limit strictly to avoid any injuries related to failure of the brakes or breakage of parts.

Safety

Finally, you need to consider the safety of the double stroller. Not only should they have brakes that are easy to use, but also, they should have five-point harness systems for the kiddos. Also, you need to remember the two-hour rule: you need to limit car seat use for babies to no more than 2 hours in every 24-hour period. Additionally, once you reach the destination, move babies to bassinets, cribs, or anything else.

What features to look for in double strollers for differently aged kids?

If you have kids of different ages, look for double strollers offering versatile seating options, like a toddler seat and a bassinet, or an adjustable reclining seat and a bassinet. Additionally, look for easy maneuverability and ample storage.

Can I use double strollers for jogging?

Yes, some double strollers are specially designed for parents who love off-road adventures, jogging, and staying active. Just keep in mind jogging strollers aren’t recommended until at least 8 months of age.

Are double strollers allowed on airplanes?

Double strollers won’t fit in overhead bins. However, you could always gate-check the stroller anyway, as it’s much easier.
